L’Open World Forum ouvre pour la première fois ses portes au public lors d’une grande journée consacrée au Do-It-Yourself Open Source, qui aura lieu à Paris le samedi 24 septembre 2011. « Makers » et « doers », étudiants et écoles, artistes et designers, associations et entreprises acteurs de l’Internet des Objets (objets qui connectent monde physique et Internet) sont invités à envoyer leur candidature à participation.

Les projets seront choisis en fonction des deux critères-clés :

  • proposer des créations Open Source (sous licence Copy left, Creative Commons ou GPL) qui font intervenir de la connectivité (Internet des Objets en priorité)
  • impliquer une interaction avec le public. Les participants sélectionnés pourront exposer leurs créations, échanger avec les autres participants et rencontrer les visiteurs tout au long du DIY/Experiment Day, qui s’annonce comme le rendez-vous majeur de la rentrée en matière de DIY Open Source.

A propos de l’Open World Forum

Suite aux succès des précédentes éditions (180 orateurs et 1500 participants venus de 40 pays en 2010), l'Open World Forum se L’Open World Forum est le premier sommet mondial rassemblant les décideurs, les communautés, les développeurs pour cross-fertiliser les initiatives technologiques, économiques et sociétales ouvertes, afin de bâtir le futur du numérique. L’événement a été fondé en 2008 et se tient désormais chaque année à Paris, avec plus de 180 orateurs venus de 40 pays et une audience internationale de 1 500 participants en 2010. Le forum est gouverné par une structure de pilotage rassemblant les principales communautés technologiques internationales (Apache Software Foundation, Linux Foundation, Open Source Initiative, OW2 Consortium, Qualipso Consortium), et les grandes associations francophones du Logiciel Libre (Adullact, AFUL, CNLL, PLOSS, Silicon Sentier), avec le soutien de grands acteurs institutionnels européens (Commission Européenne) et français (Mairie de Paris, Région Ile-de-France, Agence Régionale de Développement). Le forum compte parmi ses partenaires 70% des grands acteurs mondiaux des technologies IT.

= Call to participation =

For the first time ever, the Open World Forum will be opened to the general public during an entire day dedicated to Open Source Do-It-Yourself, on Saturday, September 24th 2011, in Paris, France. Makers and doers, artists and designers, non-profit organizations and start-ups, all key actors of the Internet of Things are invited to send their application to participate.

They will be selected regarding two main criteria:

  • proposing connected products (Internet of Things) being under Open Source license (Copy left, Creative Commons or GPL)
  • enabling interaction with the audience.

Selected attendees will be able to show their creations, mingle with other makers and meet visitors all along the day. This Open World Forum’s DIY/Experiment Day will be a major event for the Open Source DIY this September.

About the Open World Forum

The Open World Forum is the leading global summit meeting bringing together decisionmakers, communities and developers to cross-fertilize open technological, economic and social initiatives, in order to build the digital future. The event was founded in 2008 and now takes place every year in Paris, with over 180 speakers from 40 countries, an international audience of 1,500 delegates in 2010.
